We have a number of rooms available for hire by individuals, businesses and community organisations in both church buildings.  Please select the building you need below to find out about the rooms and how to book them.

In addition to the rooms, we have a small space with sink and kettles that you are free to use for light refreshments such as tea or coffee at no extra cost.  If you wish to use the kitchen to cook or serve a meal, please let us know; there is an additional charge of £10 for this facility.

We hold an alcohol licence.  If you wish to serve or sell alcohol at your meeting, you are required to advise us so that we can check you will meet the terms of the licence.  There is an additional charge of £15 for the use of the licence.

The room hire rates are below, we offer discounts for regular hirers.  For more information please contact the church office.  All bookings are subject to our terms and conditions.

Large Hall

  • Approx. size 10 x 12m
  • Suitable for disabled access.
  • Chairs and tables included. The Large Hall would seat approx. 100 people seated in rows and 80 around tables and 40 standing for parties.
  • Stage
  • Piano
  • Toilets / disabled toilet / changing facilities.
  • Access to running water and kettles on request.
  • The Large Hall is suitable for meetings, family functions, dances or performances.
  • Hire fee: £16 per hour 

Small Hall

  • Approx. size 7 x 10m
  • Suitable for disabled access.
  • Chairs and tables included. The Small Hall would seat approx. 40 people in rows or around tables or 20 for parties.
  • Projection screen.
  • Piano
  • Toilets / disabled toilet / changing facilities.
  • Access to running water, tea/coffee facilities on request.
  • Serving hatch through to the kitchen. Use of kitchen on request.
  • Use of Toddler Group toys on request.
  • Hire fee: £15 per hour

Studio

  • Approx. size 7 x 9m
  • On the first floor. Not suitable for disabled access.
  • The studio could accommodate up to 40 people.
  • Chairs and tables included.
  • One Toilet on first floor, disabled toilet / changing facilities on the ground floor.
  • Hire fee: £14 per hour

The Spire Cafe

  • Located in the Church Foyer.
  • Friendly, welcoming area with 8 tables which would seat around 30 people.
  • Suitable for disabled access.
  • Available for hire during afternoons and evenings, except for on Sundays between 5.30 and 8pm.
  • Toilet/changing facilities.
  • The use of the Spire’s kitchen area is not included.
  • Hire fee: £13 per hour. For concerts, the Coffee Bar must be hired together with the Sanctuary at £31/hour for both spaces.

Sanctuary

  • Main Church area.
  • Beautiful, historic setting with chairs which can be arranged flexibly and can seat around 120 people on the ground level and 60 on fixed pews in the gallery.
  • Suitable for disabled access.
  • Sound System.
  • Grand Piano and Organ.
  • Excellent acoustics, which makes the Sanctuary a popular venue for concerts.
  • Not available for hire Sundays before 12.30 and between 5.30 and 8pm.
  • Toilets / disabled toilet / changing in corridor behind the Sanctuary.
  • Hire fee: £21 per hour. For concerts, the Sanctuary needs to be hired together with the Cafe at £31/hour. 

We offer three main spaces for hire in the Methodist Building:

  • Hall
  • The Fellowship Room
  • The Sanctuary

The hall and fellowship room can be let simultaneously to different hirers, normally without a problem provided they understand that they must each allow access to the toilets and kitchen, which are accessible from each room.

The sanctuary can only be let to hirers for concerts or lectures who normally must also hire for the same period either the hall or fellowship room or both (meaning the whole of the ground floor of the building). This is so they can access the toilets.

The hire charges are listed below. Charities and community projects of a charitable nature may be allowed a discounted rate on application.

Please note that no alcohol is permitted on the premises of the Methodist Church Building.
