The Spire Cafe

NOW OPEN AGAIN!

The Spire Cafe  is a local independent cafe, with a warm welcome for everyone. We are safe, with social distancing and full Covid Secure.

We are open in the URC building from

10am – 2pm (Monday to Friday)
we are not able to open on Saturdays at the moment.

We serve morning coffee / teas etc. plus light bites (scones, toasted teacakes, etc.) and a selection of delicious home-baked cakes and biscuits.

From 12 noon – 2pm (Monday to Friday only) light lunches are available which include a variety of soups (with roll); jacket potatoes (with a variety of fillings of your choice); eggs (poached or scrambled) on toast; and plain or toasted sandwiches.  We also have a daily “Specials Board”, plus a variety of desserts.

There is a children’s toy area and a children’s menu.  High chairs and changing facilities are available.

We are strong supporters of FairTrade, and serve FairTrade tea and coffee.

There is a small selection of FairTrade greetings cards and second-hand books at very reasonable prices.

We have many happy and satisfied regular customers, but we are always pleased to meet new ones.  If you fancy joining our team of volunteers, pop in and see us.

Do come and visit us at our unique little cafe with a heart!

The Spire Cafe is pleased to be selected as finalists in this year’s 2020 URC Community Awards, supported by Congregational and Reform magazine.

Andy Jackson, Head of Communications for the URC said, “The quality and standard of this year’s entries were again, as in previous years, exceptionallyhigh, which made judging them very difficult.  The judges were deeply impressed with what your project has achieved for your local community, the way in which you have organised it and the resources used.”

Judging for the awards is expected to take place later in the year.
